January 12, 2009

Please excuse this last minute request, but a need has just become apparent and there is a container being loaded in Columbus this Wednesday to come to Haiti.  If you are able to respond quickly to this request, our problem may be solved.

Background:  Recently, the Haiti government honored Univers by placing 2 resident doctors and 2 recent nursing grads at our newly-opened medical clinic.  This is huge for us because even though we do not have the official paperwork yet to operate a medical facility (Haitian government offices work very slowly), this shows that we do have de facto approval from the government.  We simply need to provide furnished housing and a stipend for their one-year residency or internship.  We rented a house and have provided some rudimentary items of furniture.  We borrowed four full-size beds from the mission guest house to complete the task.

However, mission teams will be coming to help us out beginning with the team from UALC on February 7th.  We’d really like to have some beds for them to sleep in when they get here.  J

Request:  We could use up to 4 used full-size beds (mattress, box springs, and frame).  If you know of any, please contact Hosea Logan ( and coordinate how to get the items to ODW Logistics (a.k.a. the Ness warehouse complex) where the container will be loaded on Wednesday, January 14th.

Many thanks!

Pastor Dave
